Femdom Rally!

The Ladies gathered around the stage

Our surprise musical guest, Clairede Dirval

The crowd enjoying Clairede's performance

Saturday, the actual date of our anniversary kicked off with a surprise Femdom Rally. The boys were asked to leave the sim as the ladies gathered together to hear some speeches and say a few words of their own. I kicked the event off with this speech:

Welcome Everyone to the first Femdom Rally in Second Life! Today we are here to celebrate the Femdom community. We are here to celebrate all of us!

I have a few suprises planned but I first wanted to say a few words about Femdom.
The word Femdom means something different to everyone. To some, its a BDSM term. To others, its a title to signify their role. To me it represents a whole philosophy of Female power.

Femdom = Female Domination. This extends outside of the bedroom to cover every aspect of life. Women leading in relationships, business, at home. To me, being Femdom goes hand in hand with being a feminist.

Femdom does not mean servicing men or playing some fantasy fetish role for their satisfaction. Femdom is about US, our desires, our needs, our dreams. We are not prostitutes, we are not playthings. We are REAL women who want, need and demand to be in control. THAT'S Femdom.

The most powerful thing we can do as women and as Dommes, is to throw off the ideas of what society expects from us. Forget about the insults, the names we get called when we take control. And every woman here has felt anger directed towards her when she's stepped forward in to a leading role. Ignore it, reject it. Fuck 'em. We make our own rules. THAT'S Femdom.

I love men. That Dommes hate men is one of the biggest lies about Femdom. Its meant to degrade us. We love men. We love men who love women, who respect women, who honour women. The misogynists, the haters, they can only hurl insults and run when faced with our power. Their insults are born from fear. We scare the shit out of them. And so we should. Together, there is no more powerful force in the universe than women united. THAT'S Femdom.

When things get tough, there is one place you can always turn: towards your sisters. Never betray them. Never mislead them. Never put them second. They are a source of strength that knows no bounds. Today we celebrate Femdom and your power as Dommes and our power together as The Sisterhood. Welcome to our rally and cheers to you all!

Lady Ravanys then took the stage and did a beautiful reading for us:

by Jennifer Smith
But Woman

Nailed upon the wooden beams of bureaucracy,
a monotonous premonition exists'.
A society devoid of corporeal complexion,
as uneven hues of red and brown contaminate equality
Like pocket books of black injustice
We blur emancipation with law
Pasted to the rocking chair of complacency we wait.
But,

Woman is courageous
Inspiring
Strength
Until now watching the world through a window of prejudice
Reality and evolution woven together, a twisted tire swing,
unwinding.
Our currencies dance around pulpits and
tradition sticks in the stubborn mind, a self made grave,
a premature death.
But,

Woman is determination
Freedom
Equality
We give birth, shelter, nourish, and demand justice;
the painted pendulum of fortune dawns a new error.
An evolution that happens by mutation, as you allow
conception from the political platform,
peacefully intermingled
we will give society a different hue
as one by one
all witness a humanity that holds color
a reflection of freedom
one bed sheet at a time,we change the face of human existence
linking hearts like a chain around the earth, cleaning the shore
so that all our names can be written,
and our contributions remembered
long after the unmentionable odor of death
has escaped.

Miss Destiny then followed with the following readings:

Sisterhood is:-

Sharing a blood-like connection with a woman who you know has your back like you have hers.
Someone who you can talk to when you can't talk to anyone else.
A bestfriend.
A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.
Someone you can get into a big argument with and laugh with the next second because you know each other didn't mean it in a hurtful way.
Someone who can make you laugh when you feel like crying.
Someone who will not tell you what you want to hear but what you need to hear. She's always gonna keep it real with you.
Someone you can depend on to be your rock when everything else is shakey.

My Sister Is...

My sister is my heart,
She opens doors to rooms
I never knew were there,
Breaks through walls
I don't recall building.
She lights my darkest corners
With the sparkle in her eyes.
My sister is my soul.
She inspires my wearied spirit
To fly on wings of angels,
But while I hold her hand
My feet never leave the ground.
She stills my deepest fears
With the wisdom of her song.
My sister is my past.
She writes my history.
In her eyes, I recognize myself;
I have memories only we can share.
She remembers, she forgives,
And she accepts me as I am--With tender understanding.
My sister is my future.
She lives within my dreams.
She sees my undiscovered secrets,
Believes in me as I stumble.
She walks in step with me,
Her love lighting my way.
My sister is my strength.
She hears the whispered prayers
That I cannot speak.
She helps me find my smile,
Freely giving hers away.
She catches my tears
In her gentle hands.
My sister is like no one else.
She's my most treasured friend--
Filling up the empty spaces,
Healing broken places.
She is my rock, my inspiration,
Though impossible to define,
In a word, she is... my sister.

~Lisa Lorden

A number of Ladies then added their own thoughts in voice, which I will never be able to recapture here. Suffice to say, this gathering was a pinnacle moment for me in my life here in SL.

The rally wrapped with a fantastic performance by Clairede Dirval, who agreed to come in with very short notice. A big thank you to Claire, her assistant Heather, Lady Ravanys and Miss Destiny for their beautiful readings, and to all of the wonderful women who came out to rally with us. What a way to start our day!
