The Dominion Support The ACS Relay For Life

Last week Lady Cera Rhapsody approached me with the idea of doing a series of events at Dominion in support of The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, which kicks off this weekend. It was a fantastic idea and a number of our other members have rallied together to bring you a weekend of music, discussion, tributes, and much more. We hope you'll come out and pay tribute to those we've lost, celebrate the survivors among us, and even learn a bit about what we can do to make things better. All this weekend you'll see ACS donation jars around the sim and at our events. These donation jars are provided by The American Cancer Society and 100 percent of your donations go directly to them. Please give what you can, and remember that 250 lindens is just one u.s. dollar. Our goal this weekend is 500, 000 lindens, or roughly 2000 u.s. dollars by the end of this weekend. As you can see from the post below, our DJs kicked us off with a hefty 34000 donation last night. We are well on our way.

I'd like to thank everyone who is helping out with this weekend's events, and a special thank you to Lady Cera who is spearheading our participation in the ACS Relay For Life. I have asked her to share a few words, which you will find below. Thank you Cera, and thank you to our wonderful and generous community for all of your support!

I first became involved with the American Cancer Society the after my mother passed away from Pancreatic Cancer, the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, in 2008. Once I found out about her cancer, since I hadn't heard much about it before then, I wanted to know all that I could about it, what caused it, what kind of success rate it had... basically, I wanted to know all that I possibly could. I began my search on the internet, finding sites such as The Mayo Clinic Cancer Research and the American Cancer Society (ACS) and various other very informative sites. The two that stood out from the rest were the Mayo Cancer Research and the ACS, the two that I have become very active in, the two that I have found great support, wonderful information and best of all... all donations given to these two groups goes directly and fully to Cancer Research.

This weekends events coincide with the kick off to the ACS Relay For Life. The fundraising season for cancer research, the season where the most money is raised from various events. The Relay season runs from now until the end of July.

This weekends events are kicked off with a 80's Pajama Party Friday night with the wonderful DJ's Lady Eloise and Lady Pamela ! Both Ladies generously donating all tips and fees to the ACS.

We will kick off Saturdays events with an auction of a wonderful donated BDSM furniture set by the lovely Lady Violet. Followed by the Dominion Slave Hunt at 12 pm slt.

At 4 pm slt, we will have a very special Confessions, led by Miss Zarita, you will hear touching stories from the members of Dominion whos lives have been touched one way or another by cancer. Prepare yourself for an emotion filled hour with your Domionion family. Don't forget to bring your tissue, or at least your subs shirt sleeve.

Back again for another amazing D Lounge, is Lady Pamela, performing for our amusement ... oh yes, and her wonderful set of tunes. As she did Friday night, she again, will so generously donate all tips to the ACS Kiosks.

Now for a wonderful surprise event, held in the courtyard of the Dominion, will be one of our very own Mistresses.... I know you have all wanted and have begged for her to entertain us all, but she has kept quiet.....until now ! You wont want to miss this wonderfully casual set, including requests, from the amazing.... Miss Scousa (Jennifer) Oleander at 9pm slt !!

If that hasn't been enough for a fun filled day, come hang out with us at the courtyard ALL night long for a variety of games and excitement... we will have Guitar Hero SL style, Pictionary, Greedy, trivia and a lot of laughter and chat !!! With Lady Tehgan entertaining us with her wonderful musical tastes.

Since you will be awake with us all night from giggling and having fun, we will continue our event with a special Discussion about Cancer, bringing awareness and sharing stories and thoughts about these horrible deseases. As always, this event will be led by the most intellegent Lady Destiny.

At 1 pm slt we will have a special guest, the one and only Billy Mesmer, giving us all a 30 minute concert! You wont want to miss hearing this !

Rally for The Cure Biker Rally at 2 pm... dig in that inventory, find your hottest leather biker outfit, and come shake your "thang"!

To end this long weekend, at 7pm slt, we will commence with our closing announcement, giving a grand total of the weekends donations!!

Also, throughout the weekend, Lady Janice will be taking profile pics for donation cost !! Be certain to dress to the nines and come find Lady Janice in the courtyard for your wonderful pics !

My personal goal for this weekend is to raise not only awareness but also to top my last years total donations of just under 500,000 L$ !!! Come on all you Dommes, you know you don't like to be topped... and subs... this is your chance to top for once !! Who is up for the challange?!?!

After being asked why I had wanted to do this event here at the Dominion... my only answer could be, "because this is my family, and I know there are a lot of wonderful people here that would pull together, and help this amazing cause..." because in reality, I don't know that there is a single one of us here that has not had our lives touched in one way or another by cancer. And if we can help raise enough funds to help find that so sought after cure, it may just help save our or someone we loves life.

I want to personally thank Eva for all of your support and help with this event ! I know it was short notice, but it has come together so wonderfully !! THANK YOU ! To Zarita, your a doll girl! I know I completely changed the whole idea of dominion confessions for the day, and I so appreciate your encouragement.

Destiny... sweets, Thank you for supporting and being on board with this idea from the start! I know you will lead us all in a wonderful discussion !!

Pamela and Tehgan, Your musical talents will rock us through out the night and your williness to donate all tips.... you ladies amaze me, seriously!

Janice, your idea of donating pictures to people in the courtyard !! so very thoughtful of you!

Scousa ( Jennifer ), You came up with the best idea !! Thank you so much for offering to perform here for us ! I personally cannot wait !!

And last, but definitely NOT least... you all, my Dominion Family!! With out you, this event would not have been able to happen... all of the support and encouragement that I have received from you all has been a blessing to me!! I always knew that I loved the D, you have all just reinterated that fact!! Bless you all!!!
