WHAT IS IT?
---------------------------------
Along with a new year come new plans and visions for your Second Life. In 2014, how can you step up to help others? In what ways can you welcome and accept the love and support of your friends and neighbors? How can we give back to the Dominion community at large?
In the WISHES & PROMISES AUCTION, each individual imagines a personal auction lot that is either a WISH or a PROMISE. More about that in a moment.
These lots will be auctioned to Dominion members as sim donation opportunities.
The auction will connect people for the purposes of fulfilling desires and possibilities and for sharing pledges and commitments both large and small.
The event will open on SATURDAY JANUARY 25th at 2pm SLT in a dedicated WISHES & PROMISES AUCTION area (Members Only) and all bids will close seven days later at 2pm SLT on SATURDAY FEB 1st.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

AUCTION LOTS are described in NOTECARDS.
(Easy instructions below.)
ANYONE can enter UP TO TWO LOTS for auction.
(i.e. One WISH, one PROMISE.)
ANYONE can auction a WISH.
ANYONE can auction a PROMISE.
ANYONE can BID.
ANYONE can WIN.
There are NO SPECIAL RULES for males, females, dominants, or submissives. However, the auction is limited to Members Only and the lots will be very informally REVIEWED for appropriateness.
BIDDING will occur on a special board. Opening bid of $250 just like our regular auctions, with increments of $50L after that. Highest bidder wins. Only the winning bid will be kept as a donation, all other bids returned.

OK, WHAT IS A "WISH" AUCTION LOT?

"WISH" auction lots express one or more of the following:
I have an... Ambition, Aim, Enterprise, Dream, Plan, Hope, Purpose, Intention, Longing, Need, Prayer, Request, Yearning, Hankering, Itch, Pleasure, Thirst, Urge, Want, Whim, Appetite.
Brief examples:
"I have a request for a scripter."
"I have a yearning to go on ONE perfect SL date."
"I have a hankering to DJ a two-hour long dance party."
"I want someone to lead the Black & Blue Munch once in Feb."
"I have an urge to take someone into my dungeon for a night."
"I have a prayer that someone will donate meaningfully to the International Planned Parenthood Association."
Your "WISH" auction lot notecard can be undetailed; as brief as the examples above. If it's undetailed, you and the winning bidder will work out the finer points after the lot is sold. Or, if you prefer, you can load up your card with the terms and particulars of your wish.

WHAT IF I AM THE WINNING BIDDER OF A "WISH" LOT?

Congratulations! YOU WIN THE CHANCE TO GRANT THE WISH!
You don’t have to grant the wish yourself. Maybe you know a guy who knows a guy. You will work out how to satisfy the wish: in what timeframe (WITHIN 30 DAYS), by what criteria, etc.
As is usual for Dominion auctions, failure to fulfill the auction terms can be reported to our auction referee (Miss Evangeline Eames) for review.

SO, WHAT IS A "PROMISE" AUCTION LOT?

"PROMISE" auction lots express one or more of the following:
I do solemnly... Promise, Pledge, Swear, Agree, Vow, Give My Word...
Brief examples:
"I do solemnly swear to be your scripter for a project."
"I promise to take you out dancing. On a leash."
"I agree to take you on 2 hours of sim exploration."
"I give my word that I will keep you in full chastity."
"I promise to donate $50 USD to the charity of your choice."
"I pledge to roleplay a fantasy with you in-world, for up to 6 hours."
Your "PROMISE" auction lot notecard can be undetailed; as brief as the examples above. If it's undetailed, you and the winning bidder will work out the finer points after the lot is sold. Or, if you prefer, you can load up your card with the terms and particulars of your promise.
To enter a "PROMISE" lot, just fill out this notecard and return it to Owen (Mouse Moonwall), on or before January 18th 2pm SLT:
