Each day of our week long Women's Leadership Series, The Dominion honours an inspirational female leader. Today we pay homage to...
IDA B. WELLS!
Why Ida B. Wells?
Born a slave, Ida B. Wells became a civil rights powerhouse considered the equal of her well-known African American contemporaries such as Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Du Bois. A journalist, suffragette, and passionate anti-lynching crusader, she refused to give up her seat on the railroad, almost a hundred years before Rosa Parks.
